Through the USAID-supported Tuberculosis Health Action and Learning Initiative, JSI India, in collaboration with World Health Partners and Child in Need Institute, is developing holistic approaches to TB control efforts across six health districts in West Bengal, India.
Pakistan ranks fifth in terms of Tuberculosis (TB) burden, at an alarming figure of 620,000 TB patients out of a total population of 177 million people.
There is still something missing in the monitoring of TB/HIV activities that would be worth collecting. TB and both ART and pre-ART patients are currently being assessed in cohorts and their outcome measured according to standardized categories. However, little is known about the outcome of co-infected individuals, since their details get mixed with the overall cohort they belong to.
