Wow! What a conference and what an opportunity– to pull back from routine work and look ahead to ponder with 13,000 colleagues on ways to address the global health challenges of the next 20 years!
For the past few days I have attended the 140th American Public Health Association (APHA) Annual Meeting in San Francisco, California
Gender is an integral component of HIV prevention programming globally, but this work is only beginning in the United States (US).
On Monday, October 29th, I had the privilege of presenting at the APHA conference on a panel entitled, “Contraception: Global Issues.”
In the midst of the San Francisco Giants’ sweep of the World Series, there is other excitement to report here from “the city by the bay.”
Just in case any attendee of the American Public Health Association Annual Meeting thought San Francisco wouldn’t be all that exciting, our SF Giants managed to throw in a sweep of the World Series on the first day of the conference.
